It is time for modern America to engage in critical and creative thinking. Though this virtue has never been specified, it galvanized the Founding Fathers, guided national leaders through times of tumult, and is synonymous with the American way of building a better tomorrow. Current political rhetoric is saturated with sentiment that hearkens back to the verbiage of the Constitution or decisions that supposedly led the country astray. If the Founders were alive today they would scold us for being too naive to recognize that they were doing the best they could given the maxims of their day; it is time for current leaders to do the same.
